D.J. Burns has endeared himself to the college basketball world — both for his talent on the court and his joyous attitude off of it.
On Sunday evening, Burns led his No. 11 seed NC State Wolfpack to a 76-64 victory over the No. 4 seed Duke Blue Devils. The 6-foot-9, 275 lbs center scored a game-high 29 points en route to the upset.
Understandably, everyone wanted to speak with Burns after his stellar performance. While he could’ve blown these people off and gone to celebrate with his teammates, the fan-favorite big man took the time to acknowledge his supporters.
Burns stopped to take photos with the security staff at Dallas’ American Airlines Center.
College basketball fans are praising Burns for this classy move.
“Thanking the band and cheer teams, posing for photos with security at an arena he’s only been at for a few days. Some guys just get it and DJ Burns is clearly one of them. We are going to have a happy office building tomorrow with so many State fans/grads,” one wrote.
“Love it! Beast on the court. Humble off. He understands the assignment,” another said.
“How can you not love this guy ? I think everyone in America outside of the other 3 fan bases is rooting for the Wolfpack !” another added.
Burns and the Wolfpack will clash with Zach Edey and the No. 1 seed Purdue Boilermakers in the Final Four.
